What
to expect from peer counseling
From
your first phone call to set up
an appointment and through your
first and subsequent sessions,
you can expect to be treated with
courtesy and respect. You can expect
your peer counselor to be competent,
well trained, and friendly. In
turn your counselor will expect
you to be an active participant
in the sessions completing the
homework, reading assignments,
and exercises. Approaching each
session with this attitude ensures
that the maximum benefit is received.
Scope & limitations
of peer counseling
Our
peer counselors are not professional
counselors and are of the Christian
faith, helping, encouraging and
equipping those in our care to
live their lives as God has intended
them to live.
Some
areas in which we counsel are: depression, anxiety, money
and fiscal management, marriage and youth counseling, addictions,
food disorders, and post-deliverance counseling.
Financial
policy
There
is no set fee but in order to
ensure that we are able to provide
timely services, donations are
accepted and receipts given.
Through some form of donation,
the client is enabled to take
responsibility for their healing
and growth.
